Aryn Bartley

Aryn Bartley (she/her) has been teaching writing and literature courses at Lane since 2013. She is especially interested in the field of the health humanities, which explores how the humanities and arts can offer insight into people's experiences with and understandings of health, illness, healing, caregiving, and medical culture. Relatedly, she has been trained in narrative medicine facilitation and arts-in-health methodologies, which involve using reading, writing, and other art forms to encourage reflection and sharing about health issues and experiences. Aryn earned a BA in English, a BA in Anthropology, an MA in English, and a PhD in English, all from Michigan State University.
