Professional Biography

Writing faculty since 2001 and a recipient of academic scholarships, Daphne specializes in coaching students on scholarship application essays, both at LCC's writing program and at UO's TRiO (student support services). Daphne studied comparative religion, philosophy, and classical languages at New College of Florida and earned a master's degree in Folklore at UO, with an interdisciplinary focus: anthropology and literature. She teaches the composition series, scholarship essay-writing, and three literature courses: Poetry, Fiction, and Folklore & Mythology. She enjoys smart writing and dumb jokes, solving puzzles and being stumped, and hanging upside-down (while the world is upside-down).
